you’ll find Coops Group hard at work supporting Quattro Plant with video of their work alongside the Dean Forest Heritage Railway.

Quattro Plant were working alongside the Dean Forest Heritage Railway team this week, helping them get the track at Parkend Station prepped and ready for winter - just in time for the Santa Special Steam train!

Our team spent two days working closely with Trevor Hartnett and Station Manager Granville Kestell,,filming the cleaning out catch pits and reballasting, leaving the heritage railway in tip-top condition for winter.

Our team managed to get footage of Quattro’s specialist vacuum excavation team make short work of the catch pit cleaning, using the unique Mad Vax vacuum excavation system.

On day two our team filmed the rebalasting of the line, following the Quattro ballast under cutter and selection of core machines. Network Rail then joined the team, finishing the job with their tamper.

PROJECTS

During the Covid lockdown AB2K Managing Director John Murphy saw potential in an old Mitsubishi van that was parked in one of the company yards. His brief was to create a road/rail welfare vehicle that could be used by rail workers in remote locations. A safe place where operators could get away from all elements of weather, from extreme cold to extreme heat. The RRV was refurbished and developed with seating for 7 people, a kitchen area with hot running water, cooking facilities and a separate toilet. Coops Group was asked to help come up with a name and design for the welfare vehicle. The name decided on was 'MADMESS', a 'mess on wheels'. It tied in nicely with Quattro's Group's MADVAX suction excavators and happened to be one of John Murphy's favourite bands.

Coops Group managed the whole lifecycle of the project, from conception, to purchase of the plane, to the design, including the amazing sharks teeth and it being sprayed. Coops Group were there to sse it roll out of the hanger for it's maiden flight in the Quattro colours from Bournemouth to Upminster Air Drome in Essex. Jack Frost and Guy Martin are attempting to run 300mph in a mile from a standing start. Coops Group have managed the sponsorship of their attempt with the support of Quattro Group. Now into the second year of their attempt both Jack and Guy have been making adjustments to enhance their bikes speed and have been closing in on many other records over the last year and a half. Jack for instance broke the world record for fastest speed reached in under a minute, 269.79mph...is the official world record! even with a 10mph head wind! We would like to wish Jack and Guy all the success this year and look forward to supporting their attempt.
