Experienced Sign Maker, Fitter / Graphics Installer based in Maldon / Brentwood, Essex

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 a year: Full-time (DOE)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Permanent
Location: Maldon / Brentwood, Essex
Hours of work: 09.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday
Probation Period: 3 Months
Holiday: 25 Days + Bank Holidays

We are a media company based in Essex and are looking to employ the right candidate within our signs and graphics division.

We are looking for an experienced sign maker, fitter and graphics installer to work within our signage team. The correct person will need to perform across multiple signage and graphics disciplines and will be required to travel to multiple sites across the UK to carry out installation work.

Responsibilities

Signage manufacturing, including cutting, weeding, applying graphics, lamination and printing.
Computer work literate with the ability to CAD design, create cut files and put to machine.
Installation of various sign systems, including vinyl graphics, illuminated signs, vehicle graphics, wall graphics & manifestations, fascia signs & totem signs.
Conduct site surveys and prepare installation reports when required.
Maintenance and repair of existing signage installations.

Experience & Skills

Full clean UK driving licence, subject to 6 monthly check – mandatory.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the signage industry.
⁠Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sign and graphics fitting.
⁠Experience in design software including illustrator, photoshop and RIP software.
⁠Experience in CAD Design.
Strong personal skills, polite, courteous and thorough in their approach to work.
Experience in vehicle wraps is advantageous but not essential.
Ability to work at heights and in various outdoor conditions.

Accreditations (Beneficial but not essential as training can be provided)

IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Licence.
MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) Certification.
CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card.

During the Covid lockdown AB2K Managing Director John Murphy saw potential in an old Mitsubishi van that was parked in one of the company yards. His brief was to create a road/rail welfare vehicle that could be used by rail workers in remote locations. A safe place where operators could get away from all elements of weather, from extreme cold to extreme heat. The RRV was refurbished and developed with seating for 7 people, a kitchen area with hot running water, cooking facilities and a separate toilet. Coops Group was asked to help come up with a name and design for the welfare vehicle. The name decided on was 'MADMESS', a 'mess on wheels'. It tied in nicely with Quattro's Group's MADVAX suction excavators and happened to be one of John Murphy's favourite bands.

Quattro Air was a project born out of a converstaion with Quattro Group's Managing Director John Murphy to support the companies celebrations of their 30th year in business. The idea was to come up with something quite special and when the opportunity to get our hands on an iconic piece of aviation history, he couldn't say no. Coops Group managed the whole lifecycle of the project, from conception, to purchase of the plane, to the design, including the amazing sharks teeth and it being sprayed. Coops Group were there to sse it roll out of the hanger for it's maiden flight in the Quattro colours from Bournemouth to Upminster Air Drome in Essex. Happy 30th Birthday to everyone at Quattro Group!

Quattro Plant were working alongside the Dean Forest Heritage Railway team this week, helping them get the track at Parkend Station prepped and ready for winter - just in time for the Santa Special Steam train! Our team spent two days working closely with Trevor Hartnett and Station Manager Granville Kestell,,filming the cleaning out catch pits and reballasting, leaving the heritage railway in tip-top condition for winter.

Now into the second year of their attempt both Jack and Guy have been making adjustments to enhance their bikes speed and have been closing in on many other records over the last year and a half. Jack for instance broke the world record for fastest speed reached in under a minute, 269.79mph...is the official world record! even with a 10mph head wind! We would like to wish Jack and Guy all the success this year and look forward to supporting their attempt.
